But it’s also great to receive recognition for the professionalism and specialist knowledge we bring to our role. And that’s exactly what’s happened recently, with accolades from two industry awards programmes.
SAFECROWDS GROUP was shortlisted in two categories in the Fire & Security Matters Awards – The Security Project of the Year category for our involvement with the Crystal Palace FA Cup celebration parade last year, and the Security Industry Woman of the Year Category for the achievements of our Operations Director, Vicki Hearn. We joined a host of well-known names from across the fire and security sector as finalists at the awards ceremony on 2nd July, and Vicki was announced as the winner against strong competition from 12 other finalists in the category.
Vicki’s award not only reflects her professionalism and expertise as a Director of SAFECROWDS GROUP, it also recognises the integrity, commitment and leadership she brings to her role every day, along with her positive impact on our whole team. With more than 20 years of experience across deployments, strategic planning and operational management, Vicki is a real inspiration not only to our team, but also to professionals from across our industry.
Our success at the Fire & Safety Matters Awards came hot on the heels of recognition at the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Awards, for which we were also finalists in two categories – SME of the Year and Installation of the Year.
Our Installation of the Year nomination was once again for our work with Crystal Palace for their FA Cup winner’s parade. The project involved planning and implementing 15 road closures within a challenging short time frame, including collaboration with various stakeholders and installation of three different HVM systems to help protect a crowd of up to 60,000 people, with time critical deployment and de-rig requirements.
At the BSIA Awards, we were recognised with a Highly Commended accolade in the Installation of the Year category, against strong competition from a huge variety of projects.
