SAFECROWDS GROUP is experienced in all aspects of traffic management, with the specialist teams, vehicles and equipment you need to plan and implement your traffic management (TM) requirements. Thanks to our counter terrorism and Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) capabilities, we can also deliver a seamless approach to integrating TM and HVM with a co-ordinated strategy and deployment.

What is traffic management?

Vehicular access and routes sometimes need to be changed on a temporary basis for a variety of operational and/or safety reasons across different environments, including events, construction and civil engineering work and emergency road closures.

In each of these scenarios, effective traffic management is needed to:

  • Direct traffic.
  • Restrict vehicle access.
  • Ensure all diversions and restrictions are clear.
  • Ensure all diversions and restrictions are safe.
  • Minimise disruption to local residents and/or businesses.
  • Enable operational effectiveness.
  • Allow access for emergency and authorised vehicles.

SAFECROWDS GROUP’s approach to traffic management

Our traffic management services focus on delivering operational excellence, helping you to  reduce risk and minimise disruption to road users and pedestrians.

We do this by delivering a joined-up and professional approach to:

  • Advice and guidance: Considering every aspect of your requirement to enable smooth operations on the day.
  • Compliance: We put road closures and diversions in place accurately and on time as agreed with the authorities.
  • Customer service: Our teams communicate professionally and politely with all stakeholders at all times, giving clear information and de-escalating any potential conflict.
  • Operational efficiency: We ensure access is available to authorised and emergency vehicles, with appropriate security checks.
  • Safety: We can include HVM to protect pedestrians or site personnel from hostile or errant vehicles.

Our Fully Certified Traffic Management Teams

All our traffic management operatives are fully Lantra trained and certified to National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) standards, and have completed  first aid and ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) training.

Where appropriate, we can also deploy Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) certified traffic management professionals. These operatives can exercise powers usually reserved for the police, with the authority to direct traffic, ensure traffic flows, and issue fixed penalty notices for non-compliance with traffic management measures.
